The pro's and cons of my new pc. A gift I had been looking forward to for weeks! I've managed to keep my trusty old HP computer up and running for over 6 years. I didn't know it had been that long, but as my daughter had now reached the age of 6 and a half, and the fact I had managed with it since before she was born, I knew that it was time for a new one.
Plus it had been getting progressively slow, although overall it had served me well with little problem. I love HP!
Anyway, I started doing my research and several reviews said that chillblast pc's were good, and gave them a 10/10 score for value for money.
I settled on a PC which was high spec and cost me almost £1500. Now I know that is a lot of money, but at the end of the day I would be happy if it lasted me another 6 or 7 years.
A week later it arrived, made just for me. My very own golden apple!
I was like a child in a sweet shop. Frantically unwrapping it, trying to maintain a sense of decorum all the way through, until it came out in several bits.
Same as most people would do, I spent the next hour decluttering my desk, removing all the cables, and stuff that falls down the back. Getting the vacuum and the dusters out and sprucing it all up.
This was MY moment, MY time!
After about 30 minutes it switched on, whirred into action and then I was greeted with the welcome to Windows 7, and I spent the next few hours loving every minute of it, and it's super wide screen - something I had not had before, I loved it.
This was a great gift - a gift to me, from me!
Until...
A few weeks later I was happily surfing the internet and I got a Blue screen! Oh no, the dreaded blue screen of death !
I couldn't believe this was happening to me! Not on a new PC!
And so, the timely demise of my new PC happened. I restarted it dozens of time, in safe mode, not in safe mode, pressing F8, F12 and every other F button, until I was getting really annoyed!
I tried swapping the memory, checking cables and because of this, I ended up having wasted 2 days looking for answers online, to no avail.
Now I was sad, dismayed and annoyed, to say the least! This wasn't simply good enough.
In the end I gave up and phoned support. The pc has now gone back to them to be repaired.
It may be something I downloaded or infected my pc with.
The golden rule is this. Do not download things you are not sure about, and always keep an up to date anti virus, anti-spyware and anti-adware on your pc.
When I get it back, that's the first thing I intend to do!
So if you happen to get a brand new shiny PC, make sure you look after it, won't you?
